To understand filter elements, you must first understand their importance. Filters for construction machinery are crucial to the performance and proper operation of construction machinery. Statistics show that up to 75% of early wear on construction machinery engines is closely related to the filtration effectiveness of the air filter. A high-quality air filter can effectively reduce engine dust intake, meet engine air intake requirements, and extend engine overhaul intervals.

Main Types: The most commonly used filters on construction machinery are the "three filters":

Air filter: Responsible for filtering dust, sand, and other impurities from the air entering the engine.

Oil filter: Filters metal debris, carbon deposits, and other debris from the engine lubricating oil, protecting the engine's internal moving parts.

Diesel filter: Removes moisture and solid particles from diesel, ensuring reliable operation of the fuel system (especially the precision injectors).

In addition, there are hydraulic oil filters (such as high-pressure line filters, return oil filters, and pilot filters) that protect core components of the hydraulic system (such as the hydraulic pump, hydraulic valves, and hydraulic motor).

Key Performance Indicators (Important When Purchasing and Identifying):

Filter Fineness: This refers to the minimum particle size that a filter element can effectively capture, typically measured in microns (μm). For example, a hydraulic oil filter element has a filter fineness of 20μm.

Dust Holding Capacity: This refers to the total amount of dust a filter element can retain when reaching a specified resistance value. The higher the dust holding capacity, the longer the filter element lifespan.

Initial Resistance: This refers to the pressure loss when fluid passes through the filter element when it is unused. The lower the resistance, the better.

Filtration Efficiency: This refers to the percentage of particles a filter element can retain at a specific size. High-efficiency filters provide better equipment protection.

Structural Integrity and Material Compatibility: Ensure that the filter element is structurally stable under pressure fluctuations and that the filter media is compatible with the medium being filtered (e.g., oil).
